Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic inflammatory skin disease characterized by intense itching, eczematous lesions, and fluctuating severity. Patients often struggle with recurrent flares that reduce quality of life. Topical corticosteroids and calcineurin inhibitors remain mainstays of therapy, yet some patients are unable to achieve long‑term control or experience adverse effects. This trial explored a novel, bilateral vehicle‑controlled gel as a potential topical therapy for moderate AD. Each participant served as their own control; an active gel was applied to target lesions on one side of the body while a matched vehicle was used on the contralateral side.
